Here is the Templar Trailer for the “Assassin’s Creed” game. It sure looks like those Templars are back to their old conniving selves, worried about that grand treasure of theirs!

The Last Stand of the….

December 11, 2007

300 I always seem to hear of the Last Stand of the Spartans at the Battle of Thermopylae, in which 300 Spartans were able to hold off Xerxes’ massive Imperial army for 3 days in a small mountain pass, only to be betrayed by a fellow Greek who showed the Persians a secret passage which led behind the Spartan lines. The story always seems to make a popular movie. Such as “The 300 Spartans,” and the latest movie “300.” But, if Hollywood always seems to enjoy making a movie about the valiant last stand of a heroic group of soldiers who end up dying due to a traitors treachery, might I suggest a film on the Battle of Roncevaux Pass? Or rather, a film adaption of “The Song of Roland.” The French Epic which could be compared with such works as “Beowulf” and the “Iliad.” Or, if one wanted, they could take it to the next level as a film like “Braveheart” or “Gladiator.” (Both of which are famous cinematic epics.) Stories of heroes, battles, and treachery. I personally am thinking of writing a small script around the basis of “The Song of Roland” for a home-made movie, or perhaps even working on a film which would compressing the story of Roncevaux into a 2 minute long trailer. Just ideas I’m working on. It would be quite exciting to make a movie about it, telling the story of the “Last Stand of the Franks…”
