The Clouds Gather…

My blogging may be brought down within the next few days due to the approaching storm expected for this weekend. We just got hit yesterday with a bunch of white powdery stuff, not too difficult to shovel, but there was plenty to spare. A storm is headed our way yet again for Sunday, so if there is a slack in my posts, I’m either shovelling outside, losing power in the house, or have been devoured by a pack of hungry wargs…
Halo

The past few months have seen the release of Microsoft’s Final Game of the Halo Series: Halo 3. Halo has been one of the groundbreaking software games of the age, combining new graphics, elements, and game-play to bring the player the most exciting gaming experience out there. The plot follows the story of the last genetically engineered super-soldiers known as Spartans: John 117, aka: Master Chief. (Sound a bit familiar? Clone Troopers from Star Wars? Kahn from Star Trek?) Aside from the idea of genetic engineering which is apart of both the worlds of Star Wars and Star Trek, Earth follows in the footsteps of the Atheistic United Federation of Planets from Gene Roddenberry’s universe. Back to the story, Spartan 117, along with the Earth Marines, fight a never ending war against an Alien Religious Alliance known as ‘The Covenant.’ Which is actually no more than a figuration of Islam, as the leaders of this ‘Covenant’ are called the prophets and wage their ‘holy war’ against ‘heretics’ and Earth. The storyline is quite interesting, and you could probably find a better detailed summary on Wikipedia, since I’ve only played several levels of the game, since my friends and I tend to prefer multiplayer.
