I’ve written a post on my favorite scene from The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring the other day, and now it’s time to show my favorite Extended Scenes from The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. The first scene consists of a conversation between Gandalf and Aragorn on their journey to Edoras, which is sort of a reflection to that of Fr. Angelo’s article of ‘Kings in Disguise.’ The Second Scene is that of when Frodo and Sam are captured by Faramir, and the Captain of the Rangers goes on to talk about the nature of war, and that of the soldier. The Third is of when Faramir reminisces back to when he saw his brother Boromir drifting down the Anduin in his Lorien Funeral boat. The scene then takes us back to the time when Boromir reclaimed the ancient city of Osgiliath back from Mordor’s grasp. We then get a look at the two brother’s relationship with each other and catch of glimpse of how Boromir is Denethor’s favored son. The Last Scene is of Frodo and Sam’s leaving Osgiliath, when Faramir warns them of the danger on the road ahead, and when he tells Gollum not to lead the two hobbits to danger.
