Catholic Church and Catholic Discussion and News and Personal Commentary 5:29 pm
Sorry for my recent lack of postings. School has been crazy!
So, in my psychology class yesterday we talked about the recent ”discussion” that Sean Hannity had on his FOX NEWS show “Hannity and Colmes” with Father Euteneuer, the head of Human Life International. As you’ll see, “wishy washy catholic” Sean Hannity made Father look as bad and hateful as possible on national TV..but in my opinion it was Mr. Hannity that looked pretty idiotic…
This is what a priest should be like…humble, always ready to stand up for the faith and suffering humiliation all the while. We need more advocates like Father Euteneuer in the Church! Tell me what you think:
Also, you can read this article that Father wrote on his experience as well as many others on this “discussion” at his website www.hli.org

Ha, I say work on the corruption. Kick those wishy washy catholics out of the Church.

we need more priests like him. what a heroic stand… like Gandalf vs. the Witchking. i wish i was next to that Sean guy so i could smack him every time he called Father “sir”, but that would be a little over zealous. not every priest whould be able to do what he did, he was very prepaired and was sticking to the teachings of the Church. AWESOME!!! and didn’t the priest look a bit like Fr. Ignatius.

Yeah, the problem is that we have to deal with such ‘Catholics’ as this apparent newsperson. Fr. did a great job in standing up him, but there was the same type of situation on Fox with the Massachusetts gay rights thing… Kinda scary when they bash anyone who doesn’t approve of their agenda.

Agreed. He baits a priest into an argument and doesn’t answer a single question straightforwardly.

Not so sure. He certainly handled the allusion to Natural Family Planning well, but unfortunately his humility came off a little smug - particularly when Hannity brought up the various crises affecting the Church.

Matt,
Father Euteneur didn’t go on the show to discuss the various crises of the church..but merely to talk to Sean about Sean’s open rejection of the Catholic Church’s teaching on contraception.
Father didn’t want to get into the other crises of the church because first he would be there forever talking about it..and second it was a ploy of Hannity’s to make Father look bad and to overt his attention to issues that would seem to confuse and concern him…
No, I think it is very wise indeed that Father seemed “smug” when Sean brought up other irrelevant issues affecting the Church..and by not responding to comments on “perverted priests” and such it just proved Father Euteneuer’s control and humility.

I think that it is important to remain rather ’smug’ when answering questions on the news like that, because if they don’t hook you with one thing, they’ll try with another. It seemed that Sean tried to change the topic from himself to Father…

Wow Angie you really make me proud! After watching the video clip of Father Eutheneuer speaking for the church I sat in awe of his poise and humility. I never watch the news (or much of any t.v.) because of what we all witnessed! The world is filled with sin and what better place is there for satan to focus his greatest evil but the Catholic Church! People just dont get it! The catholic church founded by Christ 2000 years ago had nothing to do with the choices individuals did or do today! As the old media slogan dictates “There’s no news like bad news” give’s life to a ongoing judgement put on a screen for people to compare their “not so bad lives” too. How dare Hannity try to qoute the bible about judgement when its his job!

Thanks brother!
I know, television is so bad these days and everywhere you look you can find people bashing God and totally rejecting their “moral compasses”…like Sean Hannity!
Gosh the world is insane!

Yeah, No news like bad news. And what better than to pick on the Church’s current state? But you’re right, they constantly frame the Church as an organization which hinders Free Will…
