Hope Amid Despair

I thought this picture fit in perfectly with this post, in the sense of how we, as Catholics, are like the few men indeed left to stand against the overwhelming forces of Satan. In this post, I wish to address the current nature of the world, the Church, and Christians in general. The shadow of despair which looms over our land like an approaching storm; along with proposing a means by which to reclaim the world for our Lord and God, Christ the King.

This is something which has been driving to the point of insanity whenever I think of it. WHY is it that people who speak out against sins of impurity, i.e., homosexuality, pornography, etc, are being shut up by the law because of ‘hate’ speech, yet the people they are fighting are protected by it? Often enough, Pornography defends itself under the pretense of it being the ‘free speech’ of it’s publishers, and so are protected by their ‘God Given Rights’ in America.

Here are a few Examples:

Example 1: New law means anti-gay comments could lead to seven years in jail.

Eample 2: Canada’s governor general, the representative of Queen Elizabeth II, signed into law yesterday a controversial measure opposed by religious believers and free-speech advocates who say it will criminalize public expression against homosexual behavior.

I mean, what in Dante’s Inferno is going on!!!??? (*cough* lol :) ) What happened to the ideal which brought everyone to America during the past centuries? Free Speech is being associated with hate speech. Clearly we no longer have any rights in this country, and I begin to wonder why people are so ardently fighting against abortion and such, when the enemy is closing in on our flank. When one fights an octopus (thinking back to Lord of the Rings and 20,000 Leagues under the Sea, lol) we learn that fighting the arms means only a long battle against a force which will over time exhaust us and eventually crush us. Strike the head! Catholics, and even Christians MUST unite in their faith in Christ. While we are going about blindly searching for something which will make us ‘comfortable,’ the enemy closes in about us. People see the world as a comfort zone. And the classic mentality of ‘Leave them alone, and they won’t bother us,’ and ‘I’m ok, you’re ok,’ has infiltrated society to the core. WRONG! Satan is always working against the Church of Christ, and will stop at nothing till he sees Her destroyed. Much like Gandalf’s prophetic words concerning Sauron’s hatred of men, “He will raze Minas Tirith to the Ground, before he sees a King return to the Throne of Gondor.”

How true!!! Satan will raze the Church to the Ground before he sees man unite in Christian brotherhood against him. Men have grown blind to the impending shadow. Numbed with the pleasures of this world. Lulled to silence by the television, sports, and media. Who will fight? Who will stand up for what is right and good in this world? Where are the Catholics? Are not they the True Church? Shouldn’t they be the example for all Christians to Follow? Yes they should! But even they have fallen victim to the Dark Snares. And they will be held most responsible for their failure in Christ’s army. Christ words were: “I did not come to bring Peace to the World, but a sword.” Not the sense of slaying those who don’t believe what we believe, but in the sense that life is a battle of Good and Evil. In remaining silent and not doing anything, we are consenting to the rising evils of this culture. WAKE UP CATHOLICS! The enemy knocks at our gates, and your remain inside, feasting and fattening, content with your own lives, and not bothering with the outside world. There is nothing wrong with being content with life, but as with the issue of Frodo, Sam, and Merry and Pippin, you HAVE to fight, or else you will lose everything. Yes, people may look upon you with hatred; scorn, despise, loathe, and persecute you. But is that not what Christ called us to? Did not Christ say: “Where ever they persecuted me, they shall persecute you?” Catholics, and even Christians today, have lost the full sense of Christ’s message. His message was to speak the Truth Always, even if it leads to persecution and death. We water down everything so as not to hurt the feels of other denominations, peoples, and etc. BUT WHAT ABOUT THE TRUTH!? We cannot water down the truth and expect the world to change to something good! We must stand and speak out, take what is coming to us, and live for Christ. It’s a war Satan is waging against us, and if we lay down our weapons, who will fight in our stead? No one. Fight or surrender. But remember…the enemy gives no quarter…

A Way To Fight

How can we begin to fight against such overwhelming odds, which seem bent on the destruction of the Christian Faith, and the Human Family? Prayer, Sacrifice, and as Our Lady petitioned at Fatima, Penance! The Rosary is our main weapon, like a sword, we must wield it constantly, never putting it down. The war we are called to is a Spiritual one. A war waged for the souls of the countless peoples. To bring them to our Lord, through the loving guidance of Our Lady. Physical violence is not called for here; but a firm resolve equal to that of the aggression which is channeled towards destruction of the Family. Reparation must be done, for the innumerable sins against the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and the Sacred Heart of Our Lord Jesus; we can do this by reverent devotion on First Fridays to the Sacred Heart, First Saturdays to the Immaculate Heart, and with the Days of Mary, special day of devotion revolving around the importance of the message of Fatima.

The reason for storming heaven with prayer, is for God to grant the graces necessary for conversion to those who are open to receiving them. A special intention my father has in his prayers, are directing the graces to Mary’s jurisdiction, and to have her bestow them where necessary. As Knights we are called to fight in the army of Christ the King, under the banner of His Mother the Queen of Heaven and Earth. The war against our enemies is ever being waged. Knights, Prepare for Battle! Ladies, Support them with your Prayers and Encouragement!

Victory is Promised if we but Fulfill Our Lady’s Requests!

  1. Bravo! Marvelous post!

And you are very right… we ought to pray the Rosary often. Numerous saints and popes have called it our greatest weapon and shield against the forces of evil.

  2. Miss Angela Rose says:

    righto Paul!
The Rosary is so powerful and you really need to have a daily prayer life if you want to stay alive in the Faith…it’s just so sad so many people are too “busy” or lazy to give praise to our Lord… :(

  3. Illustrious marceg says:

Well… this new law will be interesting, lets see if I get stopped from giving my speach against gay marriage in my public speaking class.

  4. Believer says:

An outstanding post! Take a bow, sir, you are truly a warrior for Christianity and all the good it represents and stands for. The analogy with the “Lord of the Rings” was “spot on”.

Lucipher is indeed a clever and powerful foe. Sometimes it appears he is more intelligent, more cunning, and certainly more resolute than mankind. We are facing an extremely difficult enemy, and only through the word of Christ our Lord will we be able to defeat him. As time passes, it is becoming more and more evident that the world is moving away from spiritualism and heading to materialism and agnosticism. This is the next great challenge for humanity. This post is a great new start in describing how to regain lost ground. Good Work!

  5. Amanda says:

Amen brother! You are so right! The LOTR analogy is great. Good work!

  6. Megan says:

    Great post Paul. =)

  7. Thanks for the comments! Yes, Satan is a very powerful adversary, and often enough, people overlook that fact that there is an organized assault against the Church. Sadly, some Catholics are just too afraid to “Saddle Up,” as John Wayne would put it. Life is a Spiritual War. Kill or be killed.

  8. JosephAnthony says:

You will do great things in your life young man! my hat is off for you! We need men like you at the front line with your sword drawn against an army the untrained eye sees as “unbeatable”! It truly is us vs. the world at this point! Were entering an age of confusion. But, what we must understand that the confused are easily educated in the right enviroment under the right circumstance. The war we must lead is a silent war. Let us all reflect upon what our holy pontiff’s message relay’s as our leader and direct head of our beautyfull faith in the upcoming day’s to come. I’m so ready to win some souls back!! Were like Aragorn, Gimblie, and legolas running without stopping for days looking for our captured hobbits!

“I thought this picture fit in perfectly with this post, in the sense of how we, as Catholics, are like the few men indeed left to stand against the overwhelming forces of Satan.”

The first that we must do – inside ourselves.

“WHY is it that people who speak out against sins of impurity, i.e., homosexuality, pornography, etc, ”

    Matthew 7
1(A) “Judge not, that you be not judged. 2(B) For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and(C) with the measure you use it will be measured to you. 3Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but(D) do not notice the log that is in your own eye? 4Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? 5You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.

  10. tanyazhadan says:

“As time passes, it is becoming more and more evident that the world is moving away from spiritualism and heading to materialism and agnosticism.”

It`s more right to say that
    we live in Kali Yuga.

  11. We always must work on ourselves constantly. We can never trust ourselves with out fallen nature, and thus must constantly resort to Prayer.

Though, from looking at your site Tanya, you’re very much into the Hindu/New Age movement.

But incessarily condemning these sins, I am not ‘judging’ people, as in saying their going to Hell. They always have a chance to repent. What I am actually doing, is pointing out, that if they continue in their life of sin, they will MOST CERTAINLY go to Hell.

  12. Catherine says:

I really liked this blog Master Paul. I know that in my own life I do not take enough time to say the rosary daily as I know I should. thank you for reminding me of how necessary it is to my life with God, not to mention all the graces given to those I pray for. :)

  13. Thank you Catherine! You should work on developing a devotion to Our Lady! By the way, how did you find my blog? I noticed you have some links on your blog to Lady Rose’s and Elena’s blogs.

  14. tanyazhadan says:

“We can never trust ourselves with out fallen nature”

    That is why
    Matthew 7
1(A) “Judge not, that you be not judged.

“they will MOST CERTAINLY go to Hell”
You look from your scanty viewpoint.
If you would be God, you could say “they will MOST CERTAINLY go to Hell”.

Is it so hard to understand?

  15. Not at all. But I am not sending that person to Hell, I’m just stating that if he doesn’t change, he WILL go to Hell. Just like saying, if a plane doesn’t slow down when it goes in for a landing, it WILL crash. No argument.

And it is not wrong to state that ‘the person will most certainly go to Hell if her persists in sin,’ for we are simply restating what God has revealed to us. Sin is sin, and it will lead to Hell if there is no repentance.

“in the sense of how we, as Catholics, are like the few men indeed left to stand against the overwhelming forces of Satan.”

How very noble of you lol. Typical, It just isn’t real enough for you until someone starts a crusade in the name of your god. Stop justifying your worldly atrocities in the name of your God.

Live your life True and fairly, Love thy neighbour not thyself.
