Among the very many stupid movies coming out in theaters this one has caught my eye. Religilous, attempts to show people how stupid religion is and how it can’t really be true because its so ‘out there’, in the trailer he even goes so far as to compare God to Santa. This truly shows the ignorance of our times, I really don’t know how this man could be so obtuse. I did notice however, in the trailer, they don’t show him interviewing any theologians, I personally would have liked to see him get into an argument with Scott Han, or Even a learned priest, even one of our every own FI’s. Although I know it’s only the first trailer of the movie and I realize that they’re not showing us the entire movie, he tends to be talking to either crazy people, or your average uneducated, catechized person.

On his site, which I don’t suggest you go to, is full of all sorts language and horrible blasphemy, I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if this guy was a mason. In fact I would find it very interesting, because it would expose his agenda and only further my point that this guy may very well believe in God himself but attempts to bring himself above God and stomp on him. Making movies is an art and, like all modern art, it is becoming deformed and promoting a relative train of thought. So in other words… its not a good movie.

I got this youtube clip in an e-mail from a friend. It’s basically a video of a horrible, funny, and just plain stupid looking sacrilege. These are things that you hear happening but never really witness it. I was (after laughing) hurt while watching this video. The first part of this video shows the procession in and I was dumbstruck. It’s completely disrespectful to Our Lord…. I don’t even know where to begin. What I’ll do is give you two clips: the top the sacrilege, the bottom the way Mass is supposed to be. It’s easy to see which one is fit for a God.

Every idea has to originate from someware right? Well look at this, it’s the TrekDesk and is designed to give you a work out as you work. They said that they created this trying to fight back the obesity problem. Well look at this video and see what happened to Dwight when he took a similar thing to his work. It was just too funny to pass up. Here’s the clip I couldn’t get it on the site for some reasion.

This video is pretty self explainatory…. just one thing. Richard Dawkins, after the interview wrote on his blog that he was only humoring Stein because he was too stupid to understand other wise… HA yea right…. he was stuck! enjoy the video!

The second day we woke up, went to mass and herd an amazing homily, a friar homily as I call them. We then ate breakfast and met this guy in his early thirties who is discerning a vocation. We invited him to breakfast and he ended up following us for that entire day, it was no doubt Providence that the friars and this guy crossed paths. Our first stop was St. Patrick’s Cathedral. We said an express novena to Our Lady to help us find parking, it’s so expensive in the city. That guy (I can’t remember his name) went half way with Father so that we could park in a garage. We then get to the Cathedral and mass is going on. It was very strange. Mass, the greatest thing that could ever be done was happening at that very moment and people were still walking around and looking at the art and the side chapels and such as if nothing was happening. We then did adoration in the chapel in the back of the alter and waited outside until mass was over. We also got to see the crypt, that was because of the friars habits, they work similar to tickets in some instances. :)

 We then saw all there was to see there and went to St. Vincent Ferrer’s, a church run by Dominican friars. This church should have been a cathedral, it was the most beautiful church I’ve ever seen. It was if you got sucked back into the Medieval period. I can’t really describe it, just if you are ever in NY look it up!

After that we went to the Mother Cabreny shrine. Apart from being a very ugly church we met some surprisingly rock solid converts. The husband was a Muslim and his wife a Jew and they were converted and received the sacriments at the Vatican. He had a first class relic of St. Pio that we got to venerate and he gave us a second class relic of some Franciscan saint (a short little guy, always in the confessional if you think you have a clue let me know). Another thing that was amazing was that the Shrine was run by some very good sisters. They wanted to go back into their full habit. How often do you hear that! So pray for them because their Chapter’s coming up and they don’t think it’s gonna fly, unfortunately. 

That was day two. Sorry it wasn’t nearly as interesting as my subway story but it took me so long to get this out because of homework and such and because of that I forgot a lot of the details. You also had to be there for a lot of it too, many of the little miracles that happened that day would only be understood if you were fully knowledgeable of all the escapades of that day. Just rember one thing, if you are ever in New York try to make a visit to St. Vincent Ferrer. The picture I posted doesn’t do it any justice.
